Tokyo-based tribal electronic unit "IN THE SUN" from Chichibu, Japan, was formed around 2011 as a drum + synth + guitar band and they have built their career by supporting the talented Baltimore duo Matmos who are known for their remixes of Bjork's on their Japan tour, organizing the party called ”RAW TEMPO" at Bushbash and other activities. Finally In 2022, they released their first physical album as the current formation of percussion + electronics + saxophone.

The solemnly layer of ethereal synthesizers and sobbing saxophones reminiscent of misty sacred peaks, and the rhythm strikes as if it were shattering a rock. Their sound is both cutting-edge and resonating with the DECONSTRUCTED CLUB trend that has established a solid position in Europe and Asia, and the GORGE movement that is rekindling in the 20's.

And the remixers include Matmos, with whom deepened their relationship through Japan tours, and Tokyo newcomer T5UMUT5UMU, who has released numerous works on notable labels in Japan and abroad.

The epic poem of electronic sound depicts the nature that erodes the dystopia that emerges at the dawn of the night when countless breaths are stirring.

東京を中心に活動する秩父出身トライバルエレクトロニック・ユニット“IN THE SUN”。2011年ごろにドラム+シンセ+ギターのバンド編成として活動をスタートした彼らは、Bjorkのリミックスでも知られるボルチモアの鬼才デュオ・Matmosの来日ツアーのサポート、Bushbashでの主宰イベント「RAW TEMPO」の開催等、電子音楽、ノイズ、オルタナティブ、ハードコア…様々なジャンル/シーンを横断的に行き来しながら独自の地図を拡大し、自らのスタイルを練磨してきた。そして2022年、パーカッション+エレクトロニクス+サックスの現編成としては初のフィジカルリリースとなるNEW ALBUMが、自らもメンバーの一員である小岩BUSHBASHのレギュラーパーティー「Discipline」のレーベルライン〈DISCIPLINE PRODUCTION〉よりリリースされる。

霧深い霊峰を想起させる幽玄なシンセサイザーと咽び泣くサックスによる荘厳なレイヤーに岩石を砕くかのごとくリズムが叩きつけられるサウンドは、先鋭的であると同時に、ヨーロッパやアジアで確かな地位を確立したDECONSTRUCTED CLUBの潮流、或いは20年代に入り再燃しつつあるGORGEムーブメントとも共鳴する同時代性をも兼ね備えている。

さらに、リミキサーにはジャパンツアーで交流を深めたMatmos、国内外の注目レーベルから数々の作品を発表しシームレスな活動を繰り広げる東京の新鋭T5UMUT5UMUが参加し、見事な有機反応を生み出している。

無数の息吹が蠢く夜が明け立ち現れる、ディストピアを超えたその先に鎮座する大自然が、電子音の叙景詩によって描き出される。
